Anchor Adults is...

an eight-part interactive online group workshop series that helps curious adults move from a hijacked nervous system and daily 'WTF' moments to a grounded approach to emotional regulation and intentional presence.

We're holding expectations for ourselves that leave very little room to breathe.

 

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that the problem was us.

That we should be better at coping, managing, and holding it all together.

But what if the problem was never you?​​ 

 

The truth is the human nervous system does not have

infinite capacity for stress.

S**t... so is there any GOOD NEWS?!

Yes! Even though life keeps sending us stressors, the nervous system is remarkably adaptable (yay neuroplasticity!)

Through awareness, practice, and the right tools, we can begin to expand our capacity to move through stress without being overwhelmed.

 

It’s not about becoming perfectly calm, but learning how to return to steadiness more easily, even when life is intense.​

Hello, I'm Lara

Educator, facilitator, and conscious children’s mentor with over a decade of experience working with families and a lifetime of doing my own damn work every single day. 

 

As a highly sensitive, neurodivergent person, I know firsthand what it’s like to feel total nervous system overwhelm and to desperately want answers and tools that actually work.

​​

What I’ve learned is that nervous system support works best when it is simple instead of complex, creative rather than rigid, and playful instead of perfection-seeking - especially when life feels messy. I focus on holistic support, compassionate connection and don’t do overcomplexity, blame or shame, because life already has enough of those as it is. 

​​

I’m wildly passionate about this work because it’s ultimately harm prevention, for kids and adults alike. When we build a steadier nervous system, we interrupt harmful emotional patterns in our bodies, relationships, families, communities, and environments.

 

In Anchor, I’ll help you access tools that actually work to support nervous system regulation, help you engage with life more fully, and create a ripple effect of stability and joy around you.

You’ll leave each session with actionable strategies you can use immediately: for stress, emotions, and overwhelm. These are tools you can carry into work, home, and family life.

Nervous System 101: Overwhelm Leads to Harm

When our nervous system is overloaded, it shows up in ways we often don’t even notice at first. You might feel stuck in survival mode, reacting instead of choosing.

 

This can look like:

  • Sudden bursts of anger, anxiety, or shutting down 

  • Constantly pleasing others at your own expense

  • Emotions spill out faster than we can manage

  • Leaning on others to carry what we can’t hold alone

These responses are not personal failures.​

They are the nervous system doing its job... trying to protect you.

 

But left unchecked, this overwhelm can start to affect your health, mental health, relationships, work, family life, and community.

 

Small patterns of stress can ripple into harm, to yourself, to others, and to the way your household functions.

 

Overwhelming? Yes, it can be.
